Selling your car abroad: export from Doetinchem
A diesel, an ex-lease car, a company van or a damaged car, or more than 200,000 km on the clock? Car companies abroad look for vehicles like these. We pass yours on to our network; if an offer comes in, we forward it and you decide.
- Free and without obligation
- Built in 2008 or later
- You decide on every offer
Thinking of selling a car that might suit the export market? Car companies abroad look for cars with more than 200,000 km on the clock, diesels, ex-lease cars, company vans and damaged cars, built in 2008 or later. Auto Export Doetinchem passes your car on to its network of car companies abroad. If one of them makes an offer, we forward it to you and you decide.
We do not buy the car ourselves. We act as an intermediary and, if you sell, arrange the export papers at our RDW-approved desk in Hengelo, Overijssel. Requesting an offer is free and without obligation.
The cars our export partners are looking for
- Mileage above 200,000 km
- Diesel cars
- Ex-lease cars
- Company vans
- Damaged cars
- Built in 2008 or later
Free and without obligation: requesting an offer costs you nothing
How it works
- You send us the details and photos of your car, via the form or WhatsApp.
- We pass your car's details on to our network of car companies abroad. They may make an offer.
- If an offer comes in, we forward it to you. You decide whether to sell.
- Agreed? The export transfer can take place at our desk in Hengelo: you receive the vrijwaringsbewijs (proof of deregistration), the buyer receives the export documents and, if needed, export insurance and two white plates.
We act as an intermediary; the offer comes from a car company abroad. There is no guarantee of an offer.
Diesel, ex-lease or damaged: does your car from Doetinchem qualify?
The categories above are examples rather than a closed list. If you are not sure whether your car fits, simply send us the details. One rule is fixed: the car must have been built in 2008 or later.
Whether the car is parked in Doetinchem itself or in Gaanderen, Wehl or Terborg, you do not have to drive anywhere for an offer. The request is handled remotely, using details and photos. Our desk only comes into play once you accept an offer.
What car companies want to see: details and photos
The more complete your request, the better car companies can assess the car. Please send us:
- the registration number, make and model;
- the year of manufacture and current mileage;
- the fuel type, such as diesel, petrol or electric;
- the condition and any damage, described as honestly as possible.
Photos often say more than words: all four sides, the interior, the odometer and close-ups of any damage. The form at the bottom of this page has no upload field, so please use the button to send photos by WhatsApp; it opens a pre-filled message. Email works too.
An offer from a car company abroad? The choice is yours
We pass your details and photos on to our network of car companies abroad. They assess the car and may make an offer. The offer comes from them, not from us, and we forward it to you.
The choice is then yours: accept it or let it go, as a request commits you to nothing. Please be aware that not every car receives an offer. Each company decides for itself, and we cannot promise interest in advance. For the same reason, we do not mention amounts or valuations on this page.
Accepting an offer: your vrijwaringsbewijs and the export papers
Once you agree, the export transfer can take place at our desk in Hengelo. The car is not registered in the foreign buyer's name in the Dutch register; instead, the buyer exports it in their own name:
- You, the seller, receive the vrijwaringsbewijs, the proof that the registration has ended.
- The buyer receives the necessary export documents, including the export certificate (kentekenbewijs deel II). There is more on our page about car export paperwork.
- If the buyer drives the car to the destination country, they also need export insurance and two white Dutch export plates.
According to the RDW page on exporting a vehicle, your insurance obligation, APK obligation and motor vehicle tax end after the export.
Sellers pay nothing; buyers cover the export papers
Requesting an offer costs you nothing and commits you to nothing. The buyer pays for the export papers, as well as any export insurance and white plates. You can see those rates on our car export papers prices page.
Planning the export transfer: one drive from Doetinchem
From the Simonsplein it is about 60 km to Slachthuisweg 135, roughly an hour via the N315. Head for Hengelo in Overijssel, not Hengelo in Gelderland near Zelhem. Agree the time with us and the buyer in advance, and call or message about 20 minutes before you arrive.
As the seller, please bring the registration card with its tenaamstellingscode (registration code), or the old paper documents, and the yellow number plates, which are handed in on export. The full list is below.
Checklist
- Valid passport, ID card or driving licence of the person the export is registered to
- The Dutch registration card (kentekencard) with its registration code (tenaamstellingscode), or the old paper parts (part 1B and the transfer certificate)
- The Dutch yellow number plates (one plate for a motorcycle, scooter, moped, caravan or trailer)
- The current mileage
- The full foreign address of the buyer
- For insurance and plates: start date, destination and route, plus details of the policyholder and the driver

Doetinchem and the Achterhoek: selling a car for export, answered
Do you buy cars yourselves?
No. We do not buy the car. We act as an intermediary: we pass your car on to our network of car companies abroad, forward any offer to you and, if you sell, arrange the export papers at our desk.
What does it cost to request an offer?
Nothing. Requesting an offer is free and without obligation for the seller. The buyer pays for the export papers and, if needed, the export insurance and white plates.
Does every car get an offer?
We cannot promise that. Offers come from car companies abroad, not from us, and they decide for themselves whether to make one.
Where does the transfer take place?
If you accept an offer, the export transfer can take place at our RDW-approved desk at Slachthuisweg 135 in Hengelo, Overijssel. From the Simonsplein in Doetinchem it is about 60 km, roughly an hour's drive.
What happens to my insurance and road tax after the export?
You receive the vrijwaringsbewijs, the proof that the Dutch registration has ended. According to the RDW, the Dutch owner's insurance obligation, APK obligation and motor vehicle tax then end.
