What car export papers cost when you come from Doetinchem

The three desk prices build on each other:

• Export document, from €50. We deregister the vehicle for export in the Dutch vehicle register, including processing with the RDW. The buyer receives the export certificate (kentekenbewijs deel II) and the seller the vrijwaringsbewijs, the proof that the Dutch registration has ended.
• Export insurance with white plates, from €100. Temporary third-party liability cover for 14 days, a Green Card and white export plates: two for a car. The export document is not included.
• Complete export package, from €150. All of the above. This is the standard choice when the vehicle is driven abroad straight after export.

If registration abroad takes longer than planned, you can extend your export insurance online by 14 days at a time, subject to the insurer's approval. For destinations outside the EU, such as Serbia or Morocco, Business.gov.nl explains that an export declaration with Dutch Customs is also required. That is the EX-A customs document, which comes on top of the RDW export.

The BPM refund service in the table is a fixed service fee that does not include the export document. Whether any BPM, the Dutch registration tax, is refunded is decided by the Dutch Tax Administration; see the conditions for a BPM refund on export.

If you come to the desk yourself, the desk price applies. With the postal service, an insured DHL shipment with tracking is built into the postal price, and express delivery within the EU is available too. Postal delivery costs more than a visit, especially abroad, and we confirm that price beforehand.

One thing cannot be done online: the yellow Dutch number plates must physically reach us, by post or courier, and we start once they arrive. Prefer a short visit? There is also a complete package prepared online, with the plate exchange at our office.

Desk prices apply during office hours, Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 16:30. Outside those hours we work 24/7 by appointment, and a surcharge may apply. On Sundays we open by appointment at a higher rate, so always call or WhatsApp us first for the final price.

A caravan or trailer needs its own export insurance when it is exported. A trailer up to 750 kg has no registration of its own in the Netherlands; we arrange the insurance on its chassis number, and the white plate carries the towing vehicle's registration. A heavier trailer or caravan has its own registration and gets one white plate at the rear. That is why we work with guide prices here, starting with the caravan package from €220.

A motorhome, van or truck over 2,500 kg, a vehicle with foreign documents or COC assistance is priced on request. Send us the details first and we will assess your case. Also check the APK, the Dutch roadworthiness test, as the export registration is never valid for longer than the APK; the table includes an APK service.

Whatever you choose, you know the price before we start. For guide prices, the written confirmation for your vehicle, route, start date and shipping is what counts. You can pay in cash at the desk or by bank transfer.
